Developer Snapshot – Emergency Deep

Work has been long and progress is being made on my new iPhone game Emergency Deep! Things are starting to come together quite nicely. Take a look at the below screenshot to see the newest effect implementation. I wanted to make a realistic water churning effect for the torpedoes that are fired from our players sub. I managed this by leveraging the iPhone’s particle systems. The effect is pretty neat and the pictures dont do it justice.

 

The explosion that you see is also another neat effect I added. I decided that there should be a maximum time that each torpedo should be allowed to run through the water and after that time is up it will blow up!
